IT IS TIME TO FAST

Matthew 9:15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
One time the disciples of John the Baptist came to Jesus to ask why His disciples don’t fast like them and the disciples of the Pharisees. Jesus’ answer reveals something great about fasting for the church. Jesus is the bridegroom. And He said, when the bridegroom is taken away, then they will fast.
Jesus is the bridegroom and He has been taken away from us. This implies that it is time for the church to fast.
This season is a season to live a fasted life. Jesus fasted for the dsicples. But He said, when He is taken away, then they will fast. Hence fasting is not an option for the church. It is a necessity. There is power in fasting. There are things that prayer alone cannot deal with it.
Mark 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
According to Jesus there are certain demonic issues that can only be dealt with through fasting and prayer. The Apostles struggled to cast out that devil. Jesus returned from mountain top from prayer and I believe with fasting. And with one word He casted out that devil.
The disciples came to Jesus and asked, why couldn’t we cast him out? And Jesus said, this can only be done with fasting and Prayers. You must have a fasted life. You must have consistent days in a week that you fast and pray.
Most of the oppressions you experience in life will be reduced to nothing if you will commit to a life of fasting.
