Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
Your spiritual sensitivity is vital in your walk with God. In science, the power of an instrument is known by the level of its sensitivity. The more sensitive an instrument is, the better the results and effective it is.
Your spiritual sensitivity is something that you can increase from time to time. We all don’t operate at the same level of spiritual sensitivity. We have varying degrees of spiritual sensitivity. It all depends on how well you have developed your spiritual sensitivity.
Sensitivity is the ability to pick up signals or stimulus. Your ability to pick up spiritual information and signals from heaven is your spiritual sensitivity. If you are not that spiritual sensitive to the things of the Spirit, chances are, you will miss a lot of vital things that the Holy Ghost would want to do in your life.
And in times of fasting, your spiritual sensitivity is enhanced greatly. Fasting coupled with prayer and meditation on the word of God, will greatly improve one’s sensitivity in the realm of the spirit.
The more sensitive you are to the realm of the spirit, the more victory you will enjoy; you will enjoy divine leadings by the Holy Ghost, bringing you untold blessings; you will avoid a lot of mistakes and blunders that people do just because of their dullness in the things of God.
Because the early church ministered to the Lord and fasted, they were able to get the leading of the Spirit concerning the call of Barnabas and Paul. This led to the missionary journey of one of the greatest missionaries of all time. If they were not sensitive, they would have missed that glorious opportunity. What things we have missed just because we did not fast.
Do well to engage in fasting from time to time to enhance your spiritual sensitivity. Let fasting be part of your life; live a fasting life. And as you fast, make time to pray, study and meditate on the word of God. This simple but profound exercise will greatly enhance your awareness in the spirit realm.
