YOU ARE IN THE ROCK!

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. KJV

Scripture tells us that while Israel journeyed in the wilderness, a Rock followed them and that Rock was Christ (1 Corinthians 10:4). What it implies is that, that Rock is a picture of Christ. And our opening scripture tells us that if you are a new creation, then you are in Christ – this means that you are in the Rock – you don’t have to pray to get into the Rock – you are already inside by your new birth; just acknowledge it and receive it by faith.

1 Corinthians 12:13 says, For by one Spirit we all were immersed and mingled into one single body……
TPT. To be in Christ is more than joining a church; it means to be immersed or baptized into the Rock. One cardinal thing that a rock signifies is protection or defence. In ancient times, people sought for protection from enemies by hiding in a rock. The psalmist puts it this way:

Psalm 62:2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. KJV

From the foregoing, to be in Christ means to be in the Rock and hence to be protected. Christ is your Rock and defence. This implies that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. This means that you are covered all round, the evils happening around you notwithstanding. There is nothing to fear anymore. There is no missile from hell that can penetrate Christ; and you are in Christ.

This should be your confidence. Have no fear irrespective of how the world around you looks like – remember you are in the Rock – let this consciousness sink deep down within you. Never yield to the fears around – all fear is of satan. The Lord has told you that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Be bold! Be fearless! Be full of courage! Be confident in the Rock. Have no confidence in the flesh.

And this Rock is called the Rock of offense. Scripture says, whoever falls on this Rock will be broken in pieces; and whoever the Rock falls upon shall be grinded to powder (Luke 20:18). When lack comes knocking, say, I am in the Rock; when sickness comes knocking, say, I am in the Rock; when the forces of hell come knocking, tell them, I am in the Rock. You are in the Rock; you are indestructible; you are imperishable and incorruptible. Blessed be Jesus forever more! Hallelujah!
