THE LEPER IS OUTSIDE THE CAMP

2022 The Year Of OverflowTHE LEPER IS OUTSIDE THE CAMP

Numbers 5:1 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:

In the next couple of days, I will be sharing with you three vital truths in the kingdom of God. While Israel journeyed from Egypt to the Promised Land, they camped from time to time. Their camping was remarkable; they camped in the form of a cross, facing the tabernacle, the presence of God. If you were in the camp, blessed are you. If you were outside the camp, then you are in trouble because the best was in the camp; there was nothing good outside. The presence and glory of God was in the camp hence to live outside the camp was to live without God’s presence, glory and provisions. The camp is a picture of our place in Christ. God specifically commanded Moses to put three kinds of individuals outside the camp: the leper, everyone that has an issue, and whoever is defiled by the dead. All these three individuals speak of uncleanness as far as God is concerned.

Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

In today’s lesson, we will be looking at the leper. A leper is a picture of the sinner. In the sight of God, he is an outcast and alienated from the life of God. It does not matter how nice an unbeliever may look on the outside, he is a leper, as far as God is concerned. The sinner’s residence is outside Christ; he lives outside the gates of Zion.

The sinner is in a terrible situation. His destiny is hell. Anyone who does not receive the sacrifice of Jesus will ultimately end up in eternal damnation, completely and forever separated from God. It is a fearful thing to behold. It is not something anyone should get into; but sadly, many are journeying their way into hell everyday. The sinner cannot comprehend the things of the Spirit; he cannot appreciate them. What excites you as a believer does not move the unbeliever.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

We all need to intercede for our loved ones who are not saved, that God will quicken them to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. Winning the lost is warfare. The devil wants the sinner to destroy, while Jesus is seeking to save him. And we are Jesus’ extension to the sinner. Let us all get involved in world evangelization to save the lost at all cost. In case you are reading this article and you are not saved, I pray you to receive Christ into your life right now by confessing Him as the Lord of your life. Nothing in this world should hold you back from receiving God’s best gift, Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
